Le Tip Le News

We are thankful for a great group of tippers at LeTip Chester County East (CCE) which hosts its weekly meeting every Tuesday. At our last meeting on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, we had the pleasure of 1 guest:  Mark Fedor of Fedor Fabrications who has been in business renovating kitchens and bathrooms since 1982.

SPEAKERS: Our speakers were:  Nivé Dhanak, along with her business partner Jack Blanton, of JBND Tax Books, Inc.; and Greg Cazillo Website designer.

1st Speakers:  Jack and Nivé provided us with an overview of JBND Tax Books and the services they offer to small businesses in tax preparation, bookkeeping and accounting. JBND Tax Books’ goal is to simplify their clients’ needs and, toward that end, offer a monthly “Fixed Fee” service. Clients who subscribe to this service can contact JBND all month-long with questions/comments, for one set fee! JBND is proactive with clients and reviews tax projections in advance of IRS deadlines for the year ahead, so that corrective actions can occur before the current year ends. A good lead for JBND is any small business with revenues of $50,000 to $500,000 and up.

2nd Speaker:  Greg of DX Creative showed us a variety of Websites he recently designed. Greg can design a Website from scratch or he can enhance an existing Website, such as adding an e-commerce component or implementing a Content Management System (CMS) or developing a customized form. Also, Greg can handle the hosting of Websites and can create a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) program to fit just about any budget. He also mentioned it’s important for Websites to contain a “call to action,” for e.g., “Contact us for a free 1-hour consultation.” A good lead for Greg is  any small business in need of a new Website or would like to improve their existing Website.

TIPS: At this week’s meeting we circulated 15 tips total! (9 inside and 6 outside tips). Go Tippers!

DOLLARS IN OUR POCKETS: Please provide Scott Darling your “dollars in your pocket” for the month of November by Tuesday.

BUSINESS MIXER: Our next Quarterly Business Mixer will be held on December 8th at Halligan's Hearth and Home in Malvern. We need contributions for our prize drawings. Can you help?!

QUOTE OF THE WEEKIt is not your aptitude, but your attitude, that determines your altitude. By Zig Ziglar

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

It was another great morning at LeTip Chester County East’s (CCE) weekly meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. We had 2 guests today:  Andrew McDowell of This Leaky House which helps homeowners find leaks, fix them and save you money, energy and improve your CO2 footprint; and we had the esteemed pleasure of the company of Robert Smith-Felver, Executive Director of LeTip International, handling the PA, DE and MD regions.

SPEAKERS: Our two speakers today were:  Philip Koberg of Selective Tileworks and George Scherbak of Harvey Insurance Group.

1st Speaker: Phil presented a slideshow sampling his beautiful tile work. His selection included bathrooms, showers, kitchen backsplashes, countertops, fireplaces, pools, fountains, Jacuzzis and more! Phil graduated from college with a Marketing major and Finance minor and worked in the corporate world for a bit. But he got bored quickly. Phil always loved to work with his hands and enjoys working with angles and geometry – so he soon discovered the world of tiles. He loves getting up every morning to get to work for his Selective Tileworks clients– so let’s help Phil get some more leads!

2nd Speaker: George is the Executive Sales Adviser with Harvey Insurance Group which provides commercial or personal insurance options. He pointed out that his company is an independent broker, so they are not committed to any one insurance provider. Instead, George can shop around for his clients by reviewing a variety of carriers to get the best deal possible. So if you know individuals or businesses who are interested in reviewing their insurance policies – from homeowners and auto, to business insurance and professional liability insurance, and more – please send George the lead!

TIPS: At this week’s meeting we circulated 25 tips total! (10 inside and 15 outside tips). Go Tippers! And congratulations to George, who just joined last month and also quickly became our “Top Tipper” last month. Way to go George!!

DOLLARS IN OUR POCKETS: Last month we brought in $11,115 dollars in our pockets. Woo hoo!

BUSINESS MIXER: Our next Quarterly Business Mixer will be held on December 8th at Halligan's Hearth and Home in Malvern. Be sure to follow-up with your invitees in the next couple of days!

See you Tuesday!

Daily light savings time made it a bright morning at LeTip Chester County East’s (CCE) weekly meeting on Tuesday. We had another jam-packed morning with 4 visitors! Welcome to Patricia Roos of Wachovia Bank; Paresh Mistry of Citizens Bank; 2nd-time visitor Eric Greisiger of RBS WorldPay, a credit card processing provider; and Rob Nudy of Eagle Collision, a car repair shop and visitor from another LeTip chapter.

LeTip CCE also welcomed back Bridget Hanley of Little Conestoga Picture Framing. Bridget – who is our only customize framer for pictures, heirlooms and memorabilia – took a brief hiatus from the group but was drawn back for the camaraderie and, of course, for all the qualified leads she’ll be receiving again!

SPEAKERS:  Today we heard Mark Burkholder of Burkholder Brothers Landscaping and Sue Bullock of Tuttle Marketing:

1st Speaker:  Mark went through the new Website that was created for Burkholder Brothers, our only landscaping, custom pool and irrigation company – and snow blowing services too! Check out the new site at  www.BurkholderBrothers.com which features a variety of “before” and “after” pictures of projects. A good tip for Mark is any local Chester County resident with a lawn. If Mark can get his foot in the door (or on the lawn), he can “grow” his services from there. (Also, the new site was created by our only Website designer Greg Cazillo.)

2nd Speaker:  Sue demonstrated the online store found at www.TuttleMarketing.com. Tuttle Marketing is our only promotional products provider with ideas for any business, school, church organization, or family/social event. Customers can search for items by typing in a key word in the search field, and products can be personalized by color, logo, shape, size. Sue can also offer unique product ideas that will leave you with that “wow” impression. Browse through for ideas or give Sue a call!

TIPS: Kudos to Scott Darling of ReMax and George Scherbak of Harvey Insurance Group for the shared “Top Tipper” designation in October, with 7 tips each. Congratulations! Today we referred 4 inside and 22 outside tips. Great job Tippers! Congratulations to everyone for another excellent tip count this week:  8 inside, and 17 outside tips. Great job!

VISITATIONS: Due by Monday, November 16th and commercials presented at the November 17th meeting. If there was no visitation, the visiting member must give $5 to the non-visited member.

BUSINESS MIXER: Mark Your Calendars! Our next Quarterly Business Mixer will be held on December 8th. Our Mixer Chair, Craig Constable – our only Life, Health & Disability Insurance pro – will provide us with details soon.

See you Tuesday!

It was a dark and dreary morning but the sun was shining at LeTip Chester County East’s (CCE) weekly meeting on Tuesday. We had a jam-packed morning with 4 visitors! Bridget Hanley - of Little Conestoga Picture Framing – who is also a former member of LeTip CCE; Alan Dale, a Reverse Mortgage Consultant with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; Greg Wirt - Trust & Estates Attorney with Fox Rothschild – who also attended our Business Mixer in September; and Jack Blanton who is business partners with Nive Dhanak of JBND Tax Books – one of our newest members!

Our first speaker today was Scott Brown of James Brown Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning. They are a family-owned and operated business, that, for over 30 years has provided the Chester County area with custom design and installation for residential and commercial spaces. Scott also talked about Radiant Heating which involves supplying heat directly to the floor or to panels in the wall or ceiling of a house. It is more efficient than baseboard heating and usually more efficient than forced-air heating because no energy is lost through ducts. Scott’s team is trained and certified in their areas of specialty – so you know you’re dealing with the experts!

Our second speaker was Jack Ansley who is the owner of John H. Ansley Photography. For over 60 years the John H. Ansley Studio has developed portraits and fine art scenic landscapes which have been enjoyed throughout the Delaware Valley and beyond. The studio has spanned the history of photography, from flash powder through film to the modern age of digital photography. Jack gave us a history lesson on the photography process in the 19th century. He also mentioned that November is Veteran’s Month which is a great time to schedule a portrait sitting for a friend or family member who is or has served in the armed forces.

Congratulations to everyone for another excellent tip count this week:  8 inside, and 17 outside tips. Great job!

Reminder:  Next week is 5’er day! This occurs monthly and gives members the opportunity to bring and introduce qualified guests to the chapter. Members who have not brought in a qualified guest over the past month will drop $5 into the Tip bucket. (Members who joined this month are excluded.)

Mark Your Calendars! Our next Quarterly Business Mixer will be held on December 8th. Our Mixer Chair, Craig Constable – our only Life, Health & Disability Insurance pro – will provide us with details soon.

See you Tuesday!
