Le Tip Le News

March 2, 2010 – Good times at LeTip Chester County East continue!

SPEAKERS: Our speakers were:  Nivé Dhanak of JBND Tax Books, Inc.; and Scott Darling of Re/Max Realtors.

1st Speaker: It’s tax time! Nivé presented information geared to small businesses in preparing their corporate tax return and to individuals with their personal tax return. She discussed a variety of tax strategies, including those that are commonly overlooked. Nive also helped clarify what is deductible and provided helpful tips for self-employed individuals (for e.g., 1099s). In addition, Nive offers a free analysis of your filing from last year as well as advice for your situation this year. A good lead for JBND is any small business or self-employed individuals with revenues of $50,000 to $10M+.

2nd Speaker:  Scott D., our only residential realtor, shared his “roadmap” booklets: 1. For “Buying Your Home”; and 2. For “Selling Your Home.” Good leads for Scott include:  1. 1st time buyers (tax credit! - anyone who is engaged or about to be married); 2. move-up buyers (from townhouse to single-family home); 3. referrals (buyers or sellers, local or anywhere around the world); and 4. Anyone in financial difficulty and in a possible foreclosure situation (Scott is a Certified Distressed Property Expert and he can help!).

TIPS: At this week’s meeting we circulated 15 tips total! (7 inside, 7 outside and 1 inter-chapter tips). Jack Ansley is the Top Tipper for the month of February. Also, because of all the snow in February, Jack has extended his “pet pictures” offer through the month of March. Go Tippers!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK "A leader is best When people barely know he/she exists, When his/her work is done, his/her aim fulfilled, They will say: We did it ourselves." By Lao-Tzu

We are having a special event on Sunday, February 28th 2010 at Palace Bowling in Downingtown.  Should be a good event, although it is invite only.  If you know one of our members and have interest in joining LeTip give us a call!

February 23, 2010 – We had the pleasure of one guest – Janet Raimondo of Heartland Payment Systems (payroll services).

SPEAKERSMike Clarke of The Wireless Zone; and Craig Constable of U Financial.

1st Speaker:  Mike represents Wireless Zones, authorized retailers for Verizon Wireless, in Frazer and Thorndale. Mike offers a full line of cell phones, Smart Phones: Blackberry, PALM, etc., as well as aircards for laptops. The Motorola Droid is the first Android device offered by Verizon Wireless and is based on Google's Android operating system. It offers many cool features like Built-in Google search technology, including voice-based search. Customers can choose from a variety of voice plan, texting, Internet and other options. Just ask Mike if you’re not getting what you want from your wireless devices.

2nd Speaker:  Craig discussed Permanent Life Insurance for those who prefer the added flexibility and security that owning life insurance for their entire lives can offer. Whole Life Insurance is the basic type of permanent life insurance. Other types of permanent life insurance include: Universal Life and Variable Universal Life. Universal life insurance provides lifetime death benefit protection along with flexibility that gives you choices as your needs and finances change. Variable universal life insurance is a flexible premium. A good lead for Craig is any young couple about to be or just married, or parents with children.

TIPS: At this week’s meeting we circulated 22 tips total! (6 inside, 15 outside tip and 1 inter-chapter tips). Go Tippers!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK There's no reason that work has to be suffused with seriousness.... Professionalism can be worn lightly. Fun is a stimulant to people. They enjoy their work more and work more productively.- by Herb Kelleher, CEO, Southwest Airlines
