LeTip Chester County East met on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Exton, PA. We were joined by guests: a travel agent and an attorney.

He displayed brochures that explain some of the bank's offerings in more detail. Our speaker was Dave Kozak, our life, health, and disability insurance specialist at Chester Springs Insurance Group (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Dave spoke with us about different types of life insurance policies: term, whole-life, and trusts. He spoke of term insurance as basically being coverage for a person's mortgage and possibly other expenses. Term insurance pays only when the policyholder has died. With a whole-life policy, however, the policyholder has ways that they can benefit from the policy during their lifetime also. Dave will work with each person to formulate a plan based upon what his client is able to pay as a premium, and the policyholder has an option to access the insurance plan's growth tax-free. At times it may be advisable to start a trust, which is a life insurance policy owned by a trust rather than an individual. In any scenario, Dave makes sure to ask questions to find out the specific goals of each client. He will find the best balance between what they want, what they need, and what they can afford. Ultimately, the goal is to be able to mitigate the worst possible scenario.
