That’s 2 tips in 1!) Many of the photos are of Philly area scenes, so these pictures would be the perfect decorative touch for a local office space. QUOTE OF THE WEEK“The first rule of focus is this: "Wherever you are, be there." Unknown

LeTip Chester County East, the premier, referral networking group of Chester County, held another awesome meeting on Tuesday. We welcomed our newest member, Jeannine Jubeck, NSCA-CPT of Fit to the Core (personal training), and had the pleasure of two guests:  1. John Gallagher of John Gallagher and Sons Plumbing and 2. Rebecca Hobbs of Arbonne International (skin care).

SPEAKERSMelanie Palubicki of Aflac (supplemental insurance & AFLAC Representative) and George Scherbak of Harvey Insurance Group (property and casualty insurance).

1st Speaker:  Melanie shared a presentation that she uses when discussing the benefits of Aflac to companies with 50+ employees. Aflac complements employees’ medical insurance and at no direct cost to the employer. Major medical pays for doctors and hospitals. Aflac is insurance for daily living. It pays cash benefits directly to you, unless otherwise assigned, to help with daily expenses when you’re sick or hurt. An unexpected illness leads to unexpected costs. Aflac helps these policyholders. A good lead for Melanie is any individual or business with employees.

2nd Speaker:  George gave us a primer on rental car coverage. You have the option of purchasing a collision damage waiver to cover the physical damage costs that your own personal auto policy may not cover. There are  instances which can nullify the waiver. All rental agreements are different. American Express Gold Card which, when used, gives you some physical  coverage that may allow you to not need the waiver purchase. A great lead is any individual or business owner who has not had their insurance program reviewed in five years or longer!

TIPS: At this week’s meeting we circulated 16 tips total! (7 inside, 8 outside tips and 1 inter-chapter).

TIP OF THE WEEK: In a variety of communication situations, less is better…if you are using a PowerPoint presentation, don't put 50 words on a slide…instead, create bulleted slides. A good reminder is the 6 by 6 rule: no more than six words in a line and six lines on a slide. Often it is not the length, but the conciseness with which you speak that makes the message have meaning.  http://www.speaking-tips.com/Articles/When-Less-Is-More.aspx

QUOTE OF THE WEEK“From every mountain side - Let Freedom ring.” ~Samuel F. Smith, "America"

LeTip Chester County East, the premier, referral networking group of Chester County, held another great meeting on Tuesday. The following is a summary of our speakers’ presentations:

SPEAKERSCraig Constable of U Financial and Scott Darling of Re/Max Realtors

1st Speaker: Craig outlined his own policies. His personal life insurance program includes two different policies that have the ability to accumulate cash value and can become paid up policies 20 years in the future. One policy is a Universal Life policy and the other policy is a Whole Life policy. Craig recommends that if you have a spouse, children, a business, a house or any combination of the above then one million of life insurance is a good place to start for anyone considering Life Insurance. Craig’s own personal Health Insurance is a High Deductible Plan Health Savings Account(HSA). The main advantage to an HSA is that it helps reduce tax bills by making the premiums and the HSA pre-tax deductions from salary and wages. The other advantage is that the HSA is a Savings Account which means the money stays in the account until it is needed for medical bills and needs. Craig also has Disability Income Insurance which covers his salary or his ability to make money. Send your leads to Craig!

2nd Speaker:   Scott Darling spoke about the right kind of buyers and sellers out there. For e.g., someone who has lost a job or has been downsized. Scott is a Certified Distressed Property Expert that has been trained to help people avoid foreclosure and negotiate with lenders through a short sale situation. Someone retiring or the kids moved out and the home is just too big, or recently married and don't want to waste money on rent, or that young couple that just had a baby and needs more room? Maybe there was a death in the family and they need to sell the home. Divorces are a good source of business as there is usually a sale and possibly two purchases. But the most fun one for Scott to work with is the one where the client hits the lottery. Everyone's happy in this situation! Think about who you know that fits one of these categories and send them to Scott. He'll be happy to help.

LeTip Chester County East, the premier, referral networking group of Chester County, held another great meeting on Tuesday. We had 3 guests who all came back for a 2nd visit!  Rob Nudy and Adam Timar of Eagle Collision; and Lynnette Suzadail of National Penn Bank.

NEW MEMBER: Welcome to W. Marshall Pearson, Wills and Estates attorney, who was voted in as our newest member!

The following is a summary of our speakers’ presentations:

SPEAKERSSusan Dykas of eBernie, Inc. (computer & I.T. consulting) and Dieter Enz of SLCI (painting contractor and color specialist).

1st Speaker:  Susan provides a variety of computer / technology services and solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. She discussed the importance of implementing an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) as part of a business’ I.T. infrastructure. A computer can deal with slight differences, but a strong charge or a deep drop will cause the computer’s power supply to fail. A UPS protects a computer or server against these power failure issues, which may be caused by storms, brownouts, blackouts, etc. A business experiences many benefits when implementing a UPS which; 1. protects hardware assets, 2. prevents data loss and 3. enables continued operations in the event of a power issue, i.e. more uptime and less downtime. A good lead for Susan is a professional services firm or doctors’ offices.

2nd Speaker:  Dieter provides color consultations and painting services for your interior and exterior needs. Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children. To protect against this risk, the EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, beginning April 22, 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Dieter has gone through this process and is now EPA certified. Send your home and business painting leads to Dieter!

SPEAKERSPhil Koberg of Selective Tileworks (Main Line Tile Contractor) and Melanie Palubicki of Aflac (supplemental insurance)

1st Speaker:  Phil presented a slide show of his creative tile work. He showed us an example of a specific bathroom project he worked on for one of our fellow LeTip members. Phil also offers glass decorative insets, framed-out seats, complementary colors, and ideas galore! For over 10 years, Phil has been providing expert tile services. Please send your leads for creative tile work to Phil.

Aflac is outstanding in claims service, with most claims processed within 4 days! And they send the cash benefits directly to you. Aflac really works if you: a.) are living paycheck to paycheck; b.) want to set aside money for a catastrophic event; c.) incur out-of-network costs; and d.) have travel expenses related to medical reasons.  A good lead for Melanie is any individual or any business with employees.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK“Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.” By Dale Carnegie

LeTip Chester County East, the premier, referral networking group of Chester County, had a good time networking during our meeting on Tuesday. We also enjoyed the company of 2 guests:  Bob Evans of EDGE Printing & Packaging and Martha Hilty of Bryn Mawr Trust Company.

SPEAKERSMarshall Pearson, wills and estates attorney and Bridget Hanley of Little Conestoga Picture Framing.

1st Speaker: Marshall discussed the importance of why all adults should have three key documents in place: 1. A will; 2. Living will; and 3. power of attorney. Wills are basically a written testament as to how you wish to have your assets and property to be distributed after death. A living will is an advance directive that allows you to give instructions to your health care providers and your family about the types of treatments you want or don't want to receive if you become incapacitated. A power of attorney is a document that allows you to appoint a person or organization to handle your affairs while you're unavailable or unable to do so. A good lead is a young family or senior citizens.

2nd Speaker:   Bridget enjoys working on a broad array of framing projects – from historical documents and sports memorabilia to prints and pictures and more! She provides great attention to detail and her costs are extremely reasonable. One of our fellow Tippers brought in an enlarged photo to be framed by Bridget. She used the photo as an example to demonstrate how she works with her clients to select the right frame - based on colors in the picture, the room it will be hung in, etc… unlike those big crafts stores! Get a L.I.F.E. (Local Independent Framing Expert) by sending your projects and referrals to Bridget!

QUALIFIED TIPS CIRCULATED:  At this week’s meeting we circulated a 34 tips total! (11 inside, 23 outside). Go Tippers!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK"The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime." By ~Babe Ruth~

SPEAKERSAdam Timar of Eagle Collision (car repair and maintenance) and Scott Darling of Re/Max Realtors.

1st Speaker:  Adam presented a variety of “before” and “after” pictures of demolished or dented cars that Eagle Collision repaired to practically “brand new” condition. Adam, Rob and team take pride in restoring vehicles back to their original condition. They take the time to help their customers maintain their vehicles in safe operating condition and provide dependable transportation and worry-free driving. Send your leads to Adam – whether it’s an oil change or banged up car!

2nd Speaker:  Scott D., our Tip Master extraordinaire, shared some ideas on coming up with qualified leads/tips for our fellow tippers. Basically, it’s very important to LISTEN when speaking to your friends, clients, and family….or you can simply be sitting in a coffee shop and overhear a conversation…then you need to SPEAK UP and let folks know that they can rely on you for ANY type of referral, as someone in our group can either a.) help and/or b.) know someone else who can help.
